Configuring the Waiting Time for the Line Connection
The waiting time for the line connection indicates how many seconds the PBX should wait
before dialling a telephone number.
This is necessary if the external dial tone generated by the central office is not transmitted until
after a long waiting period which results in the PBX initiating a dialling sequence that is too early
and causes incorrect dialling.
The configuration can be made as follows:
• Via the configuration manager
Requirements:
– External analogue port (only COMpact 3000 analogue)
– Configuration manager, opened with sufficient authorisation
– Expert view (click
– Configured prefixes (country prefix and local area code)
1. Open the page CONFIGURATION > External numbers.
2. In the list field at the top, select the analogue connection.
A page opens for configuring the analogue connection.
3. Open the page Analogue connection > Expert configuration.
4. In the Waiting time entry field under Line connection, enter a value. The following
entries are possible:
3
to 30: After 3 to 30 seconds, the PBX dials a telephone number or as soon as
the central office transmits the dial tone (if waiting for dial tone is enabled).
Further steps:
– Save your settings before you leave the page.
Switching Line Access Code Transmission On/Off
If line access code transmission is enabled, the digit/digit sequence entered is automatically
inserted before the telephone number dialled.
This is necessary if the central office always requires a specific leading digit/digit sequence that
is not a part of the actual telephone number.
