Music on Hold and Announcement

When transferring a call or in the case of a query call, a communication partner waiting in the
background hears music on hold from the PBX, perhaps with an announcement played over
the music.

Configuring Music on Hold or Restoring Default Music on Hold

The configuration can be made as follows:
• Via the configuration manager
The restoration can be carried out as follows:
• Using a character string on the internal telephone
Saving the Music on Hold from the PC into the PBX via the Configuration Manager
It is possible to save a WAVE file stored on the PC as music on hold in the PBX. The file is
automatically named "wmusic.wav".
The WAVE file must have the following properties:
• Format: 16 kHz, 16-bit mono
• Maximum length: approx. 6 minutes
• Size in memory: max. 12 MB
Note: On the German Auerswald Internet page, audio files can be converted
into the audio format required for the PBX (see
service). Files stored in the MP
*.mp3, *.wav or *.raw), for example, can be converted into the audio format
G.722 (*.wav) with the Audio Converter.
Requirements:
– Configuration manager, opened with sufficient authorisation
1. Open the page FUNCTIONS > Music on hold/announcement > File and volume.
2. In the File list field, select the Music on hold option.
