Switching the Emergency Call Priority Switch On/Off

Emergency Call
Emergency calls are calls to the telephone numbers entered as emergency numbers in the
PBX.
An emergency number can be dialled either with or without the exchange line access number;
this means the user does not have to think about this in an emergency. This also means that
someone who does not have experience with exchange line access numbers can dial these
telephone numbers without any problems.
Via the corresponding exchange line authorisation, emergency numbers can be used to dial
important telephone numbers on subscribers on which normally no external calls can be made.
Important: Currently, emergency calls cannot yet be completely guaranteed
over VoIP by all providers. This affects not only the connection to the public
safety answering point but also provides the important geographic location of
the caller during an emergency call.
COMpact 3000 analogue, COMpact 3000 ISDN and optional COMpact ISDN Module:
The PBX gives land line connections priority for emergency calls. If the land line connection is
busy and the emergency call priority switch is enabled, a call will be interrupted to allow the
emergency call to go through – even if the VoIP access points are available. If no land line
connection is available (external analogue port or ISDN port is being used by the GSM
gateway), emergency calls are carried out over the GSM gateway.
Note: It is possible to manually dial emergency numbers over VoIP access
points using a targeted exchange line with the account number.
Switching the Emergency Call Priority Switch On/Off
If the emergency call priority switch is enabled, an external line is definitely made available
when dialling an emergency number from the PBX.
Note for COMpact 3000 analogue, COMpact 3000 ISDN and optional
COMpact ISDN module: The PBX gives land line connections priority for
emergency calls. If the land line connection is busy and the emergency call
priority switch is enabled, a call will be interrupted to allow the emergency call
to go through – even if the VoIP access points are available.
