Configuring a Connection for Using a GSM Gateway

GSM Gateway
A GSM gateway can be connected to an external port on the PBX. This allows direct access to
be configured on the world-wide GSM network (Global System for Mobile Communications).
Configuring a Connection for Using a GSM Gateway
In order to use a GSM gateway on the external port, the port must be configured for GSM. This
includes enabling the function on the port and selecting the connection type for an ISDN
connection.
In addition, a freely dialable telephone number is required for configuring the call distribution
for the connected GSM gateway.
Note: The connection type on the ISDN connection and the telephone
number must also be backup in the GSM gateway configuration.
The configuration can be carried out as follows:
• Via the configuration manager
Requirements:
– External analogue port (only COMpact 3000 analogue) or external S
COMpact 3000 ISDN or COMpact ISDN module available as an option)
– Configuration manager, opened with sufficient authorisation
– Expert view (click
– Configured prefixes (country prefix and local area code)
1. Open the page CONFIGURATION > External numbers.
2. In the list field at the top, select the connection in question.
A page opens for configuring the connection in question.
3. Open one of the following pages:
• Analogue GSM gateway: Analogue connection > Name and functions
• Digital GSM gateway: ISDN connection > Name and functions
4. Select the GSM option button under Special connection functions.
