need cables and wall sockets of at least Category 5 (CAT5).
– To use DiffServ to prioritize voice packets: DiffServ support on all active network components
available and enabled
– A router that is specifically designed for VoIP data communication (SIP aware)
Note: If this is not the case, several of the ports on the router necessary for
VoIP data communication must be enabled (RTP port and SIP ports) (Port
Forwarding/Port Enabling). A list of the ports used in the PBX can be found
in the configuration manager of the PBX under Service > Port overview.
1. Depending on the PBX variant operated, proceed as follows.
• COMpact 3000 analogue and ISDN: Insert the end of the patch cable into the RJ-
45 socket „LAN" on the PBX.
• COMpact 3000 VoIP: Insert the end of the patch cable into the RJ-45 socket
„WAN" on the PBX.
2. Insert the other end of the cable into the output socket on the router or into an existing
network outlet.
COMpact 3000 analogue and ISDN: The following figure shows the position of the
RJ-45 socket „LAN" at the side of the casing, as well as the set up connection.
