Note: If, at this point, you hear a busy tone instead of a confirmation tone, the
new PIN may already be in use in the PBX and no change takes place. Re-
attempt with another digit sequence.

Configuring the Remote Switching Number

The remote switching number is one of the telephone numbers available on one's own
connection and is used to carry out the following tasks via the PBX:
• Perform a configuration switchover manually via an external telephone
• Monitor a room via an external telephone
In addition, the remote switching number is used as a dial-up phone number for a dial-up
connection. This is used to configure the PBX remotely via an external ISDN connection.
Note: If no remote switching number has been configured, the PBX must be
activated for remote configuration using a digit sequence on an internal
telephone. After this, the PBX is accessible over each associated MSN/DDI.
The configuration can be made as follows:
• Via the configuration manager

1. Open the page SERVICE > Remote configuration.
2. Select the telephone number you want from the Remote switching number list field
under Remote configuration (PPP) and remote programming.
Note: This telephone number may not be rerouted using call forwarding.
