Connecting ISDN End Devices Directly to the Internal S
ISDN End Devices
This section describes how to connect different ISDN end devices to the internal S
If at all possible, a difference is made between a device to be connected directly and lines to
be laid permanently.
Important: Improper use may, for example, cause functional restrictions or
interference, the destruction of the device or, in a worst case scenario,
personal injury.
• Only connect equipment that is compatible with the proper use of the

– Cover panel is removed

– Short distances between the devices (maximum length of the connection cable used: 10 m)
Note: If the end device is placed a larger distance away from the PBX, the
cable and the wall sockets must be permanently installed.

Note: The Auerswald ISDN Multiplug and ISDN Autoswitch are available for
this type of wiring as optional accessories in specialized stores. In addition,
the ISDN Autoswitch provides the option of switching a single emergency
telephone from the internal to an existing external S
failure. The telephone used for this must support emergency operation.
Depending on the number of the end devices, proceed as follows.
• Single end device: Insert the RJ-45 plug of the end device into the RJ-45 socket of
the COMpact S
