Hardware Extensions
The PBXs accommodate a module slot which can optionally be equipped with one of the
following modules:
• COMpact 2a/b module – for extending the PBX by adding 2 internal analogue ports.
• COMpact S module – for extending the PBX by adding 1 internal S

• COMpact ISDN module – for extending the PBX by adding 1 port, separately switchable
between external S
Software Extensions
In an Upgrade Centre, you can extend the PBX with the following options:
• 2 VoIP channels, internally with wideband audio (COMpact 3000 VoIP: number of VoIP
channels from 2 to 4)
• LAN-TAPI (number of subscribers from 4 to 8)
• Fax transfer (via the Auerswald Fax printer driver)
Internal Analogue Port
An internal analogue port is suitable for connecting one of the following end devices:
• Analogue telephones with DTMF dialling, e. g. COMfortel 600 or COMfortel DECT 660C
Important: Devices using dual-tone multi-frequency dialling must be
equipped with a flash key (also referred to as signal key R).
Note: When using a T-Net-capable analogue telephone, most T-Net
functions can be used via the existing function keys on the telephone.
• Analogue telephones with pulse dialling
Important: Devices using pulse dialling cannot use the full range of features.
• Analogue fax machines
• Analogue answering machines
• Modems
• a/b door terminal systems, e. g. TFS-Dialog 200/300, TFS-Universal plus
