Safety Information
Please observe the basic safety information given in the following.
Warning: Improper handling of the device can result in life-threatening electrical
shock and can damage or destroy the PBX.
• Only a qualified electrician may connect the device and the accessories and
carry out service work on the device. If necessary, commission a specialist
company with these tasks.
• Read the instructions for the device and keep them for future reference.
Warning: Touching voltage-carrying conductors or telephone connections may
cause a life-threatening electric shock.
• Remove the power supply units for both the PBX and all accessories from the
power socket before you open the casing.
• If necessary, also disconnect the devices from auxiliary power sources (e. g.
UPS).
• Remove the dark gray cover panel. Do not remove the light gray casing cover.
This prevents accidental contact which may result in a shock from hazardous
voltages. Make sure that any repairs requiring the casing cover to be removed
are carried out by the manufacturer.
• Only mount the replaceable components (e. g. expansion modules) in a
voltage-free state.
• Only operate the device when the casing is closed.
• Only operate the device in closed, dry rooms.
• For some installation and maintenance work, it is necessary to open the PBX
while it is in operation. Close the casing after having finished the work.
• During operation, hazardous voltages (ringer voltages) are present at the
internal a/b ports. For this reason, make sure that there is sufficient insulation
when you are laying cables for analogue end devices.
• Make sure there is always adequate insulation if you touch voltage-carrying
lines.
• Be sure to follow the relevant regulations when handling 230V system voltage
and devices attached to the mains.
Warning: Inappropriate use or incorrect replacement of the power supply unit can
result in a life-threatening electric shock or can damage or destroy or the device:
• For this reason, only use a power supply unit of type no. FW7577/EU/40.
• Make sure it is inserted firmly and securely into the power socket. Wobbly
connectors or cable sockets pose a fire risk.
• Do not remove the power supply unit by pulling on the cable. If you would like
to disconnect the power supply, pull the power supply unit itself.
• If the power supply unit is damaged, first unscrew the fuse for the power supply
before pulling out the power supply unit.
