of loops is performed. Thus outer loops also contribute to the number of total runs of an inner loop. Add
a new row of loop settings by clicking the + button. Highlighted rows are removed by clicking the waste
bin button. Rows of settings need to be checked in the Enabled column to be executed.
Use the Export... button to store a complete Multi Block experiment or selected Blocks under a Name of
choice typed into the editing field. Within the Export Experiment Blocks dialogue you can Select All or
Deselect All blocks using the corresponding buttons. Single blocks are selected/deselected with a mouse
click. Export stores the selected block(s) under the chosen name.
Use the Import... button to load a Multi Block experiment or selected Blocks of an Experiment. Within
the Import Experiment Blocks dialogue chose a name from the Experiments list with mouse click.
Select All or Deselect All blocks using the corresponding buttons. Single blocks are selected/deselected
with a mouse click. Delete removes the highlighted name/experiment from the list. Import adds the
selected block(s) to the already existing block(s) of the Experiment Designer.
Pay attention to the following guidelines for the Experiment Designer
Each Block and looped Block is (saved as) a separate image file
Auto Save settings apply to the complete Multi Block experiment
Image files are automatically named consecutively keeping the number for the image constant for a
given Multi Block Experiment. The Block number always starts with 1 and the number is
consecutive within the experiment.
Use the Macro "ConcatenateImages70.lvb" to combine still open images into one consecutive time
series. See Chapter on Macros for further explanations.
Use the Macro "ModifySeriesZEN.lvb" to combine already already saved images into consecutive
time series iamges. See Chapter on Macros for further explanations.
Set desired stage position(s) for each new block separately using the Positions Tool. For multi-
position experiments in combination with Z-Stack acquisition the Z coordinate from the Position list
is referring to the center position of the Z-Stack.
Bleaching experiments are restricted to one position per Block. If more than one position is defined
for a Block, Bleaching is disabled.
Positions and Regions are not saved with the experiment, only with the image. Positions cannot be
reused from the resulting image but have to be stored as separate position list(s). See also section
5.2.20.1 on using position lists.

Loops and Repetitions are set (in Show all mode)
in the Loops and Repetition panel. Use the arrow
to open the panel (Fig. 94). The number in the
Loops column states how often a sequence of
Blocks defined by the number of the Block in Start
and End is run. One loop/repetition is set as
default and reflects the minimum of running the
experiment once. Set the Loops value to 2 to
perform the defined sequence twice. Repeat one
Block by choosing the same number for Start and
End. A yellow triangle shows up if a sequence
cannot be performed for example if the end block
is before the start block. Whenever a block being
part of a sequence is reached, the defined number
