Processing – Ion Concentration

Tool accepts single-channel or multi-channel, multi-dimensional data (typically time
series data) of samples labeled with fluorescent ion indicators. Ion Concentration was
developed for analyzing LSM data. Successful analysis of image data obtained with
other systems is potentially possible as well (provided the input meets the
requirements for intensity quantification). See full description of tool for details.
This Processing function permits the calibration of ion
concentrations in physiological experiments.
To open the Ion Concentration tools click Ion
concentration (Fig. 414).
The two
buttons select the active image in the
Image Display as Input Image and Input Image 2 (for
background subtraction). The name of the automatically
generated Output Image is shown under the name of
the Input Images.
In the Preview panel at the bottom of the Ion
concentration tool window, thumbnails of the input
images as well as a preview of the output image are
displayed (Fig. 415).
After opening the Method Parameters panel full
window by clicking the little arrow, the full tool window
opens and the following functions are available
(Fig. 416).
