Channel Settings for Airyscan

The detection settings of the Airyscan can be
controlled in the Channels tool (Fig. 163).
The pinhole will be set automatically to a correct
opening depending on the Airyscan mode.
The effective pinhole is defined by the Airyscan
detection surface and its zoom optics.
The hardware pinhole will automatically be opened
at twice the value, to avoid any signal loss.
The effective pinhole values will be displayed in the
line below the Airyscan modes.
Detection gain is set in the same way as the
internal detectors by the Gain and digital gain
sliders.
SR, VP, CO, Pinhole
To set the system for increased resolution mode,
press the SR button (Fig. 164). In this mode, the
hardware pinhole has no effect and should not be
changed from the default position.
To set the system for virtual pinhole mode, press
the VP button (Fig. 165). In this mode, the
hardware pinhole has no effect and should not be
changed from the default position.
To set the system for conventional confocal mode,
press the CO button (Fig. 166). In this mode, the
hardware pinhole is effective and can be set at the
required value for confocal sectioning.
