Tool accepts exclusively input acquired with LSM 710 and LSM 780. See full
description of the tool set and section on RICS (Raster Scanning Image Correlation
Spectroscopy) for more details on requirements to be met.

Processing – ICS
• Select the desired image in the image container, then click Select to define this image as the Input
image.
The resuling output image using the time constant parameter is shown in the Preview tool and the
Preview View tab in the image container.
Input images are time series images.
The Time constant used to detrend the image is the number of images it takes for the recursive filter to
decay to 1/e. Use a smaller number for detrending faster moving larger objects like vesicles and a higher
number for detrending bleaching effect or slower cell movements.

• Activate ICS in the Processing tool by clicking
on the arrow.
The ICS menu provides the following sub-
processing functions: Detrend, ICS correlation,
Map filter, NandB Analysis and Remove
structures (Fig. 540).

Detrend

• The Detrend function is a high pass recursive
filter.
• Click Detrend in the ICS tool. The Method
Parameters menu will show the input options
for this function.
