Saving Workshared Files
When using workshared files, there are 2 save operations you perform: saving to your local copy of the
central file, and saving to the actual central file. It is recommended that you save changes to your local copy
of the central file frequently, in between publishing your changes to the central file. It is also recommended
that you save to central frequently, and relinquish borrowed elements as soon as possible.
When you save to central, your local copy of the central file synchronizes with the central file so that you
have all the latest changes other team members have saved to central. In addition, all borrowed elements
are relinquished by default.
The procedure for saving your local copy of the central file is the same as saving a non-workshared Revit
project. For more information, see
when you save to central.
You can specify save reminders for saving local files and saving to central. For more information, see
Save Reminders

Default options depend on actions in the project. For example, if you borrowed elements, the
Borrowed Elements option is selected. If you opened view worksets for editing, the View Worksets
option is selected. The User-created Worksets option is never selected by default.
If necessary, click Browse to specify a different path for the central file. Specify the new path in
the Central Location dialog, and click OK.
