4 Under After saving, relinquish the following worksets and elements, select from the following
options:
To make your changed worksets and elements available to other users, select the appropriate
check boxes.
To save the changes to central but keep the worksets and elements editable, clear the
appropriate check boxes.
5 If desired, enter a comment that is saved to the central file.
You can see all comments using the Show History command. See
History
on page 1209.
6 After you save to central and before you close the file, you must save your local file or you will
not be able to save to central the next time you open the local file; the 2 files are considered
out of sync. This is true even if you save the local file just before saving to central. If you know
that this is your last save to central for the day, select Save the Local File after "Save to Central".
IMPORTANT If you skip this step, you will be prompted to save the local file when you close it.
7 Click OK.
Your changes are saved to the central file, and any changes from other team members are loaded
into your local file.
NOTE If you have saved all changes to central but still have editable elements when you close your local file, a
Suggest Relinquish dialog displays. Click Relinquish & Save to relinquish all checked out worksets and borrowed
elements, and to save your local file.

Closing a Workshared File Without Saving to Central

If you close your workshared file and have not saved to central, the Suggest Save To Central dialog displays.
You have the following options:
Click Save to Central to save your changes to the central file. The default options of the Save to Central
dialog are selected, and the local file is also saved.
Click Relinquish & Save if you do not want to save your changes to central. Unchanged editable elements
and worksets are relinquished, and the local file is saved. Any changed elements in editable worksets are
borrowed.
Click Don t Relinquish to keep all editing permissions; the file closes without saving to central or
relinquishing worksets or borrowed elements. You do receive the option to save to your local copy of
the central file.
