DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) CLEARANCE

As A/T DTC is stored in memory of ECM and TCM respectively, be
sure to clear it from both ECM and TCM by using either method "A"
and "B" or "A" and "C" of the following 3 methods.
NOTE:
For vehicle without WU-TWC, method "A" is not necessary to
be performed, because A/T DTC is not stored in memory of
ECM.
A. To clear DTC stored in ECM
– Refer to DTC clearance in Section 6-1 for clearance proce-
dure.
B. To clear DTC stored in TCM using SUZUKI scan tool
1) Turn ignition switch OFF.
2) Set mass storage cartridge to SUZUKI scan tool and con-
nect scan tool to DLC.
3) Turn ignition switch ON.
4) Clear DTC according to instructions displayed on scan tool.
C. To clear DTC stored in TCM without scan tool
1) Turn ignition switch OFF.
2) Turn ignition switch ON.
3) After 6 sec. or more, repeat shorting and opening between
diagnosis switch terminal and ground terminal 5 times at
about 1 sec. intervals within 10 sec., using service wire.

4) Check TCM that no malfunction DTC remains in memory of
it.
