4A-6 FRONT DRIVE SHAFT
1. Ball joint
2. Damper
1. Wheel side joint assembly
2. Wheel side boot band
3. Wheel side boot
4. Boot band
5. Differential side boot
6. Differential side boot band
7. Tripod joint spider
8. Circlip
9. Tripod joint housing
10. Snap ring
A: Black grease (about 52 g/1.8 oz)
B: Yellow grease (about 100 g/3.5 oz)
C: Chamfered spline
v) Cut off boot band at about 7 mm (0.28 in.) from clip.
1. Metal fixture

vi) Clamp boot band with clip.
3. Boot band
vii)Fix small diameter side of boot with boot band by repeating
sequence i) to v).
Diameter: Approx. 29 mm (1.14 in.)
5) Install dynamic damper on right side drive shaft, referring to se-
quence i) to v) of Step 4) and according to dimensions specified
below.
Diameter "a" : Approx. 30 mm (1.18 in.)
Length "b"
6) Install differential side boot with boot band on shaft.
Apply grease to tripod joint. Use yellow grease in tube included
in differential side boot set or differential side joint assembly of
spare parts.
7) Install tripod joint spider on shaft, facing its chamfered spline in-
ward (wheel side), then fasten it with circlip.
8) Fill up differential side boot inside with grease, then install hous-
ing and joint it with boot.
9) Fit boot to outer race.
: 333 – 339 mm (13.1 – 13.3 in.)
