DISASSEMBLING UNIT
REMOVAL OF TRANSFER AND DIFFERENTIAL
1) Remove differential side bearing retainer.
2) Remove speedometer driven gear.
3) Remove transfer assembly and differential from transmission.
GEAR SHIFT AND SELECT SHAFT ASSEMBLY AND
FIFTH GEARS
1) Remove gear shift interlock bolt and 5th to REV interlock guide
2) Remove gear shift & select shaft assembly.
3) Remove 9 bolts and take off transmission side cover.

4) Engage gear double meshing to loosen counter shaft and in-

6) Remove backup light switch.
7) Remove 5th shift fork plug and guide ball.
8) Remove circlip and C-ring.
9) For removal procedure, refer to Step 5) of Fifth Gear in Section
10) Remove input shaft 5th gear, needle bearing and then counter
11) Remove bolts and take off left case plate, and then bearing set
12) Remove C-ring of input shaft L bearing.
CAUTION:
Be careful not to damage gear teeth surface.

CAUTION:
Care should be taken not to distort side cover when
it is removed from left case.

Do not hammer when loosening nuts.
