AIR BAG DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK FLOW TABLE
STEP
1 1) Make sure that battery voltage is about
11V or higher.
2) Note "AIR BAG" warning lamp as igni-
tion switch is tuned ON.
Does "AIR BAG" warning lamp come ON
when ignition switch is tuned ON?
2 Does "AIR BAG" warning lamp keep flash-
ing (indicating DTC) when ignition switch
is turned ON?
3 After coming ON for about 6 seconds,
then does "AIR BAG" warning lamp turn
OFF?
4 1) Check DTC, referring to "DIAGNOS-
TIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) CHECK"
in this section.
2) [Using SUZUKI scan tool]
Is "NO CODES" displayed?
NOTE:
If SDM cannot communicate
through serial data circuit, proceed
to "TABLE D".
[Not using SUZUKI scan tool]
Is DTC 12 indicated?
5 1) Check DTC, referring to "DIAGNOS-
TIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) CHECK"
in this section.
2) [Using SUZUKI scan tool]
Is "NO CODES" displayed?
NOTE:
If SDM cannot communicate
through serial data circuit, proceed
to "TABLE D".
[Not using SUZUKI scan tool]
Is DTC 12 indicated?
ACTION YES
Go to Step 2.
"AIR BAG" warning
lamp flashes
Proceed to "TABLE C"
Go to Step 4.
Air bag system is in
good condition.
"AIR BAG" warning
lamp come ON steady
Proceed to "TABLE A"
AIR BAG SYSTEM 9J-19
NO
"AIR BAG" warning lamp
does not come "ON"
Proceed to "TABLE B"
Go to Step 3.
Go to Step 5.
NOTE:
As execution of the "DIAG-
NOSTIC TROUBLE CODE
(DTC) CLEARANCE" will clear
all DTCs, be sure to record all
DTCs before servicing.
An intermittent trouble has oc-
curred at some place. Check the
connector harness, etc. related
to the sensed DTC (Refer to "IN-
TERMITTENT AND POOR
CONNECTION" in Section 0A).
Then clear DTC (Refer to "DTC
CLEARANCE") and repeat this
table.
NOTE:
As executIon of the "DIAG-
NOSTIC TROUBLE CODE
(DTC) CLEARANCE" will clear
all DTCs, be sure to record all
DTCs before servicing.
Check and repair according to
Flow Table corresponding to that
DTC.
