TROUBLESHOOTING
STEP
1
Was "A / T DIAGNOSTIC FLOW TABLE" performed?
2
Is there DTC related to ECT sensor (DTC P0115/DTC NO.14
or 15)?
3
Check Engine Coolant Temp. Signal.
When using SUZUKI scan tool:
1) Connect SUZUKI scan tool to DLC with ignition switch OFF.
2) Start cold engine.
3) Check "COOLANT TEMP SIGNAL" displayed on scan tool.
Coolant temp.
Below 50_C, 122_F : LOW
Over 50_C, 122_F
Is check result satisfactory?
When not using SUZUKI scan tool:
1) Start cold engine.
2) Check duty, high voltage rate of duty cycle, (voltage) be-
tween terminal E25-7 of TCM and ground.
Coolant temp.
–5 – 50_C, 23 – 122_F : 30 – 40% (2.6 – 4.6 V)
Over 50_C, 122_F
Is check result satisfactory?
4
Check Engine Coolant Temp. Signal Circuit for Open or Short.
1) Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect ECM
connectors.
2) Check for proper connection to ECM at terminal C20-5
(G16), E92-22 (G16), E92-11(J18) or E92-17 (J18).
3) If OK, then turn ignition switch ON and check
voltage between terminal C20-5 (G16), E92-22(G16),
E92-11 (J18) or E92-17 (J18) of disconnected ECM connec-
tor and ground.
Is it 9 – 14 V?
