8) Remove parking brake return spring.
9) Remove lever with push rod and lever shaft seal.
INSTALLATION
CAUTION:
D Wash each part cleanly before installation in the same
fluid as the one used in master cylinder reservoir.
D Never use thinner or other fluid.
D Before installing piston and seal to cylinder, apply
fluid to them.
D After reassembling brake lines, bleed air from them.
NOTE:
Where temperature gets as low as –305C (–225F) in cold
weather, use rubber grease whose viscosity varies very little
even at –405C (–405F).
Before installation apply rubber grease to arrowed location.
1) Install new lever shaft seal and lever to caliper.
NOTE:
The cam of lever should face the cylinder of caliper.
Apply ample amount of rubber grease to the cam and inside sur-
face of lever shaft seal.
See NOTE at the beginning of this installation.
