IGNITION SWITCH ON (BUT ENGINE AT STOP)

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
Operation (ON/OFF) of the "O/D OFF" lamp is controlled by transmission control module (TCM).
When the ignition switch is turned ON with the O/D cut switch OFF (switch button is pushed) and malfunction is
not detected, TCM turns the "O/D OFF" lamp ON only for 2 sec. to check the bulb and turns it OFF.
When ignition switch is turned ON regardless of engine running or not and malfunction is detected, the "O/D OFF"
lamp is blinked by TCM to warm the driver of such occurrence of trouble.
When diagnosis switch terminal is grounded by using service wire for DTC check, the "O/D OFF" lamp indicates
DTC by flashing pattern.
TROUBLESHOOTING
STEP
1 Lamp Power Circuit Check
1) Turn ignition switch ON.
Do other indicator / warning lamps in combination meter
comes ON?
2 "O / D OFF" Lamp Circuit Check
1) With ignition switch turned OFF, disconnect couplers
from TCM.
2) Check for proper connection to TCM at E25-10
terminal.
If OK, body-ground E25-10 terminal in coupler
disconnected.
Does "O / D OFF" lamp turn ON at ignition switch ON?
3 Check TCM Power and Ground Circuit referring to
Table A-4 in this section.
Is it in good condition?
ACTION

6. Main fuse
7. O/D off switch
8. Terminal arrangement of TCM coupler
(Viewed from harness side)
YES
Go to Step 2 "IG" fuse blown, main
fuse blown, ignition
switch malfunction or
"B / W" circuit open.
Go To Step 3 Bulb burned out, "Lg"
or "B/W" circuit open.
Substitute a Repair or replace.
known-good TCM
and recheck.
