INSPECTION
1) Check resistance between each two terminals of actuator cou-
pler.
If check results are as specified, proceed to next operation
check. If not, replace.
2) Apply battery voltage to 2 out of 3 terminals of actuator coupler
as indicated in figure.
Check that actuator rod moves to Soft, Medium and Hard posi-
tions as shown below when battery voltage is applied to differ-
ent terminals.

If found defective, replace actuator.
INSTALLATION
1) Install absorber actuator to top of strut.
Fit actuator rod to strut adjusting rod end securely.
2) Tighten screw to specified torque.
Tightening Torque
(a): 3 N·m (0.3 kg-m, 2.2 lb-ft)
3) Connect actuator coupler.
4) Connect negative (–) cable at battery.

CAUTION:
Do not apply battery voltage to actuator for longer
than 0.5 seconds. Applying it for longer than 0.5 se-
conds may cause actuator to burn.
