8-34 BODY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER (If equipped)
The rear window defogger system has horizontal ceramic silver compound elements and two vertical bus bar. The
system is operated by the defogger switch in the instrument panel.

TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS
Trouble
Defogger does not work.
Possible cause
D Defogger switch faulty
D Defogger heat wire faulty
D Wiring or grounding faulty
INSPECTION
DEFOGGER SWITCH
Use a circuit tester to check defogger switch for continuity. If switch
has no continuity between terminals, replace.
OFF
ON
NOTE:
– – – – –: German spec. vehicle only.
Check switch.
Check heat wire.
Repair as necessary.
