TROUBLESHOOTING
STEP
1 Was "A / T DIAGNOSIS FLOW TABLE" performed?
2 Check Shift Solenoid Circuit for Short.
1) Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect TCM
connectors.
2) Check for proper connection to TCM at terminals
E26-4 or E26-3.
3) If OK, then turn ignition switch ON and measure
voltage between terminal E26-4 or E26-3 of
disconnected TCM connector and ground.
Is it about 0 V ?
3 Check Shift Solenoid Circuit for Open or Short.
1) Turn ignition switch OFF.
2) Measure resistance between terminal E26-4 or
E26-3 disconnected TCM connector and ground.
Is it 11 – 15 W at 20_C, 68_F?
4 Check Shift Solenoid for Resistance.
1) Disconnect solenoids connector at transmission.
2) Check for proper connection to solenoid at "G / W" or
"G / Or" wire terminal.
3) If OK, then measure resistance between solenoid
terminal T1-4 or T1-8 and transmission. See Fig.1.
Is it 11 – 15 W at 20_C, 68_F?

YES
Go to Step 2.
Go to Step 3.
Intermittent trouble
or faulty TCM.
Check for intermittent
referring to "INTERMIT-
TENT AND POOR
CONNECTION" in Sec-
tion 0A.
"G / W" or "G / Or" circuit
open or shorted to
ground.
NO
Go to "A / T DIAG-
NOSIS FLOW
TABLE".
"G / W" or "G / Or"
circuit shorted to
power circuit.
Go to Step 4.
Check solenoid
wire harness for
open or short.
If wire and
connections are
OK, replace shift
solenoid-A or -B.
