Remove And Install Parking Brake Cable - Suzuki Baleno Manual

1. Parking brake cable
2. Brake cable locking nut
3. Spacer
4. Equalizer
5. Pin
6. Parking brake lever bolt
7. Parking brake lever assembly
1. Parking brake shoe lever
2. Parking brake cable
INSTALLATION
1) Install in reverse order of REMOVAL procedure.
Tightening Torque
(a): 23 N
2) After all parts are installed, parking brake lever needs to be ad-
justed. Refer to "PARKING BRAKE INSPECTION AND AD-
JUSTMENT" in this section.
3) Check rear brakes for dragging and brake system for proper
performance.

NOTE:
See NOTE at the beginning of this section.
[For vehicles with rear drum brake]
1) Remove brake drum by referring to steps 1) to 6) of "REMOVAL"
1. Screw
under "REMOVE AND INSTALL BRAKE DRUM" in this section.
2. Brake drum
2) Disconnect parking brake cable from brake shoe lever by refer-
ring to steps 2) & 4) of "REMOVAL" under "REMOVE AND
INSTALL BRAKE SHOE" in this section.
3) Disconnect brake cable from brake back plate by referring to
step 8) of "REMOVAL" under "REMOVE AND INSTALL BRAKE
BACK PLATE" in this section.
NOTE:
When it is necessary to remove both right and left parking
brake cable, repeat above steps 1) to 3) on right and left
wheels.
