REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY

This caliper assembly serves for both foot brake and parking brake. It has a single floating piston and a self pad-disc
clearance adjusting system which maintains appropriate pad-disc clearance at all time. This caliper assembly also
has a manual adjustment gear which ables the adjustment of self pad-disc clearance manually.
The main component of self pad-disc clearance adjusting system is included in the piston, but those components
can not be taken out from the piston or can not be disassembled. If in case of replacement, replace them as a piston
assembly.
The mechanism of parking brake is very simple. When parking brake lever is pulled in the cabin, the lever at the
caliper let the piston push the pad to the disc mechanically and locks the disc.
NOTE:
Replace all components included in repair kits to service this disc brake.
Lubricate parts as specified. Do not use lubricated shop air on brake parts as damage to rubber compo-
nents may result. Replace pads in axle sets only. The torque values specified are for dry, unlubricated fas-
teners.
WARNING:
If any hydraulic component of brake system is removed or any brake line is disconnected, bleed the
brake system.
