1. Remove the emblem plate and timing
plug from the left side crankcase cover.
2. Connect the timing light to the front
(#1) cylinder spark plug wire.
3. Start the engine, and keep the engine
running at the specified speed. Use a
tachometer to check the engine speed.
Engine Speed: 1.300
±
50 r/min
4. The stationary pointer (in the timing
window) should be within the firing
range shown on the flywheel. If the
pointer is not within the range or if it is
not steady, check the flywheel and/or
pickup assembly for tightness and/or
damage. (See Chapter 7, "ELECTRI-
CAL" for further information.)
I. Enlever la plaque embleme et le bouchon
de lampe stroboscopique du couvercle de
carter gauche.
2. Brancher la lampe stroboscopique au
fil de la bougie du cylindre avant ( # 1 ).
3. Demarrer le moteur et le faire tourner au
regime specifie. Utiliser un compte-tours
pour contr6ler ce regime.
Regime moteur: 1.300
±
50 tr/mn
4. L'index fixe (dans la fenetre de calage)
doit etre situe dans la plage d'allumage
indiquee sur le volant. Si !'index n'est
pas situe dans cette plage ou s'il n'est
pas stable, contr6ler si le volant et/ou
!'ensemble excitation n'a pas de jeu et
n'est pas endommage. (Pour plus d'in-

1. Sacar la placa de identificaci6n y el
obturador de sincronizaci6n de la tapa·
del carter del lado derecho.
2. Conectar la lampara de distribuci6n al
cable de la buj fa del cilindro delantero
(No. 1).
3. Encender el motor y mantenerlo en
marcha
a
la velocidad especificada.
Emplear un tac6metro para verificar
la velocidad del motor.
Velocidad del motor: 1.300
±
50 r/min
4. El indicador fijo (en la ventanilla de
distribuci6n)
debe
estar dentro del
margen de encendido indicado en el
volante. Si el indicador estuviera fuera
de dicho margen o si resultara inestable,
verificar posible tension y dano en el
volante y/o ensamble de captaci6n. Ver
(Capftulo 7: "SISTEMA ELECTRICO"
para mayor informaci6n.)
