If the source file of the link in your Revit Architecture project has changed, Revit Architecture automatically
updates the link when you open the Revit Architecture project.
Click File menu
Manage Links to access a dialog that features several different commands for link
management.
Dialog Columns
The Manage Links dialog has tabs for CAD Formats, Revit models, and DWF Markups. Under the tabs are
columns that provide information about the linked model.
Linked File: Indicates the name of the linked model.
Loaded: Indicates whether the linked model is loaded in the host model.
Reference Type (Revit models only): Shows or hides nested linked models. See
Linked Revit Models
Locations Not Saved: Indicates whether the linked model's location is not saved in the shared coordinate
system. See
Shared Positioning
Size: Size of the linked file.
Saved Path: Location of the linked model on your computer.
Path Type: Indicates whether the linked model's saved path is relative or absolute. See below for more
information about the differences between relative and absolute paths.
Local Alias (Revit models only): This column is filled in only if the linked model is a local version of a
central file. In this case, the Saved Path column displays the path of the central file, and the Local Alias
displays the path of the local copy of central file. For more information on the central file and worksharing,
see
Working in a Team
