Command Reference Guide
frame-relay fragment <threshold>
Use the frame-relay fragment command to set the FRF.12 fragmentation threshold. Use the no form of
this command to erase the configured threshold.
Syntax Description

Default Values
No default value is necessary for this command.
Applicable Platforms
This command applies to the NetVanta 1000R, 3000, 4000, and 5000 and Total Access 900 Series units.

Functional Notes
For Frame Relay fragmentation to take effect, rate-limiting must be enabled by setting the committed burst
rate and excessive burst rate. Refer to
frame-relay be <excessive burst value>
Usage Examples
The following example enables FRF.12 fragmentation on a sublink:
(config)#interface frame-relay 1.16
(config-fr 1.16)#frame-relay bc 64000
(config-fr 1.16)#frame-relay be 16
(config-fr 1.16)#frame-relay fragmentation 100
The following example disables FRF.12 fragmentation on a sublink:
(config)#interface frame-relay 1.16
(config-fr 1.16)#no frame-relay fragment

Specifies the fragmentation threshold. Valid fragmentation thresholds are greater
than or equal to 64 and less than or equal to 1600.
