Command Reference Guide
client-name <name>
Use the client-name command to specify the name of a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)
client. Use the no form of this command to remove the configured client name.
Syntax Description
<name>
The specified client name should not contain the domain name.
Default Values
By default, there are no specified client names.
Applicable Platforms
This command applies to the NetVanta 300, 1000, 1000R, 2000, 3000, 4000, and 5000 and
Total Access 900 Series units.

Usage Examples
The following example specifies a client name of myclient:
(config)#ip dhcp-server pool MyPool
(config-dhcp)#client-name myclient
61200990L1-35E
Identifies the DHCP client (example is client1) using an alphanumeric string (up
to 32 characters in length).
