STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN (NOT EQUIPPED WITH AIR BAG) 3C-15
INSTALLATION
1) Align flat part of lower joint shaft with bolt hole of upper joint as
shown. Then insert lower joint shaft into upper joint.
2) Be sure that front wheels and steering wheel are in straight- for-
ward state and insert lower joint into steering pinion shaft.
3) Tighten steering column upper nuts first and then lower nuts to
specified torque.
Tightening Torque
(a): 14 N·m (1.4 kg-m, 10.5 lb-ft)
(b): 14 N·m (1.4 kg-m, 10.5 lb-ft)
4) Torque steering shaft joint bolts to specification.
Tightening Torque
(c): 25 N·m (2.5 kg-m, 18.0 Ib-ft)
5) Install steering shaft joint lower cover and then upper cover.
6) Reposition floor carpet.
2. Lower cover
7) Install hole cover.
