SROS Command Line Interface Reference Guide
Global Configuration Mode Command Set
address for the eth 0/1 interface (for example, 00127905257c).
The snmp-server engineID local command overrides the default engine ID and replaces it with the first
22 characters of the user-entered string. Because the string is in hexadecimal notation, only numbers 0
through 9 and characters a through f are valid. If less than 22 characters are entered in the string, SROS
pads the end of the entered string with zeros (least significant bits) until the 22 character string is complete.
For example, a user input of 8000000b05 results in an engine ID of 8000000b05000000000000.
