11.2.1 Motor parameter identification
After activating ASDA-Soft, check the current control mode of the servo drive. If it is in
communication mode, first set the servo drive to a general mode (i.e. Position, Speed, and

Torque modes) and then cycle power on the servo drive before executing the motor parameter
identification process (see the path in the following figure). If you do not set the motor parameter
identification, an alarm may be triggered due to the parameter setting error or the motor may be
burnt due to the motor current setting error. When you replace the motor with a different type of
motor, execute the motor parameter identification again.
