Automatic Transmission
A u x i l i a r y T r a n s m i s s i o n F l u i d P u m p
( A T F P ) M o t o r T e s t
1. Disconnect the auxiliary transmission fluid p u m p
(ATFP) motor connector.
2. Check for continuity between the ATFP motor
connector terminals No. 1 and No. 3, and between
terminals No. 1 and No. 2. There should be
continuity.

3. Check for continuity between each and every ATFP
motor connector terminal and body g r o u n d . There
should be no continuity.
4. If the ATFP motor connector t e r m i n a l continuity is
faulty, replace the ATFP.
A u x i l i a r y T r a n s m i s s i o n F l u i d P u m p
( A T F P ) R e p l a c e m e n t
1. Disconnect the auxilialy transmission fluid p u m p
(ATFP) motor connector.
2. Remove the ATFP (A), the d o w e l pins (B), the ATF
feed pipe (C), and the suction pipe (D).

(2.7 k g f m , 20 Ibf-ft)
3. Clean the m o u n t i n g surfaces and fluid passages of
the ATFP and the torque converter housing.
4. Install new O-rings (11.7 m m dia.) (E) on the suction
pipe, then install the suction pipe in the torque
converter housing w i t h the filter end t o w a r d the
outside of the housing.
5. Install a new O-ring (11.7 m m dia.) (E) and a new O-
ring (11.0 m m dia.) (F) on the ATF feed pipe, then
install the feed pipe w i t h the large end in the torque
converter housing.
6. Install the dowel pins in the torque converter
housing.
7. Install a new O-ring (G) in the groove of the ATFP
assembly. Do not apply a O-ring w i t h ATF.
8. Install the ATFP on the t o r q u e converter housing.
9. Check the connector for rust, dirt, or oil, then
connect the connector securely.
