30. Measure the voltage between PCM connector
terminals B10 and A 3 or D16.

3 1 . Clear the DTC w i t h the HDS.
32. Test-drive the vehicle for several minutes under the
same conditions as those indicated by the freeze
data.
33. M o n i t o r the OBD status for POT 16 in the DTCs/
Freeze Data in A/T Mode M e n u for a pass/fail.
Does the result indicate
a
pass?
YES—The p r o b l e m has been corrected. •
IMO—Return t o step 6 and recheck.
Is there about 5 V?
YES—Repair an open in the w i r e between PCM
connector terminal D8 and the input shaft
(mainshaft) speed sensor, then go to step 3 1 .
NO—Check for loose or poor connections at PCM
connector t e r m i n a l B10. If the connection is OK,
update the PCM if it does not have the latest
software, or substitute a k n o w n - g o o d PCM
(see page 14-7), then recheck. If the s y m p t o m /
indication goes away w i t h a k n o w n - g o o d PCM,
replace the original P C M . B
