20. Measure voltage between M C M connector terminal
B14 and body g r o u n d .

Is there battery voltage?
YES—Reinstall the IPU lid (see page 12-140), then
turn the battery module switch ON (see page 12-4),
then go to step 35.
N O — G o t o step 2 1 .
2 1 . Turn the ignition switch OFF.
22. Disconnect M C M connector B (24P).
23. Check for continuity between M C M connector
terminal B14 and M C M relay 2 4P connector
terminal No. 3.

Is there continuity?
Y E S — R e p a i r open in the w i r e between M C M
relay 1 and M C M relay 2, then go t o step 24.
NO—Repair open in the w i r e between M C M relay 2
and the M C M (B14), then go to step 24.
24. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
25. Reconnect all connectors.
26. Reinstall the IPU lid (see page 12-140), then turn the
battery m o d u l e switch ON (see page 12-4).
27. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
28. Reset the M C M (see page 12-6).
29. Check for T e m p o r a r y DTCs or DTCs w i t h the HDS.
Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated?
Y E S — l f DTC P1634 is indicated, check for poor
connections or loose terminals at the MPI m o d u l e
and the M C M , then go to step 1. If any other
T e m p o r a r y DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the
indicated D T C s troubleshooting.
NO—Troubleshooting is complete. •
30. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
3 1 . Reconnect all connectors.
32. Reinstall the IPU lid (see page 12-140), then t u r n the
battery m o d u l e switch ON (see page 12-4).
33. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
34. Reset the M C M (see page 12-6).
35. Update the M C M if it does not have the latest
software, or substitute a k n o w n - g o o d M C M
(see page 12-8).
36. Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs w i t h the HDS.
Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated?
Y E S — l f DTC P1634 is indicated, check for poor
connections or loose terminals at the MPI m o d u l e
and the M C M , then go to step 1. If any other
T e m p o r a r y DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the
indicated D T C s troubleshooting.
NO—If the M C M was updated, t r o u b l e s h o o t i n g is
complete. If the M C M w a s substituted, replace the
original M C M (see page 1 2 - 8 ) . •
