12. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
13. J u m p the SCS line w i t h the HDS.
14. Disconnect PCM connector E (31P).
15. Check for continuity between PCM connector
terminal E10 and body g r o u n d .

Is there continuity?
YES—Repair short in the w i r e between the EVAP
canister vent shut valve and the PCM (E10), then go
to step 19.
N O — G o t o step 16.
17. Check for continuity between PCM connector
terminal E10 and body g r o u n d .

Is there continuity?
Y E S — G o t o step 25.
NO—Repair open in the w i r e between the EVAP
canister vent shut valve and the PCM (E10), then go
to step 19.
18. Replace the EVAP canister vent shut valve
(see page 11-437).
19. Reconnect all connectors.
16. Connect EVAP canister vent shut valve 2P
connector terminal No. 1 to body g r o u n d w i t h a
j u m p e r w i r e .
