NOTE:
• Do not reuse the drained f l u i d .
• A l w a y s use Honda DOT 3 Brake Fluid. Using a n o n -
Honda brake fluid can cause corrosion and shorten
the life of the system.
• Do not allow dirt or other foreign matter t o
contaminate the brake fluid.
• Do not spill brake fluid on the vehicle, it m a y damage
the paint; if brake fluid does contact the paint, w a s h it
off i m m e d i a t e l y w i t h water.
• The reservoir on the master cylinder must be at the
M A X (upper) level mark at the start of the bleeding
procedure and checked after bleeding each brake
caliper. A d d fluid as required.
1. Make sure the brake fluid level in the reservoir is at
the M A X (upper) level line (A).
2. Attach a length of clear drain tube to the bleed
screw.
3. Have s o m e o n e slowly p u m p the brake pedal
several t i m e s , then apply steady pressure.
4. Starting at the left-front, loosen the brake bleed
screw t o allow air to escape f r o m the system. Then
tighten the bleed screw securely.
5. Release the brake pedal.
6. Repeat steps 3—5 until air bubbles no longer
appear in the fluid.
7. Repeat the procedure for each wheel in the
sequence s h o w n .

8. Refill the master cylinder reservoir t o the M A X
(upper) level line.
