14. Open the driver's door, and remove the caps (A),
then remove the bolts (B, C, D), and clips (E) and lift
up on the dashboard (F)/steering hanger beam to
release it f r o m the guide pins (G, H).
NOTE: Before r e m o v i n g the dashboard/steering
hanger beam, make sure all the harnesses have
been disconnected.

15. Carefully remove the dashboard/steering hanger
beam t h r o u g h the front door opening.
NOTE: Lay the dashboard/steering hanger beam on
its front or back. Do not stand it on the lower
console opening or y o u m a y damage it.
16. Remove the bolts (A), then remove the center
bracket (B).

17. Install the dashboard/steering hanger beam in the
reverse order of r e m o v a l , and note these items:
• A p p l y liquid thread lock to the bolts securing the
center bracket and the dashboard center f r a m e
before reinstallation.
• Reinstall the center bracket on the center f r a m e ,
and slightly tighten the m o u n t i n g bolts. Reinstall
the dashboard/steering hanger beam on the
body. After tightening both dashboard/steering
hanger beam m o u n t i n g bolts, tighten the center
bracket m o u n t i n g bolts and center f r a m e
m o u n t i n g bolts.
• Make sure the dashboard/steering hanger beam
fits onto the guide pins correctly.
• Before tightening the bolts, make sure none of
the w i r e harnesses are pinched.
• Make sure the connectors are plugged in
properly, and the antenna lead and air hose are
connected properly.
• Reconnect the negative cable t o the battery.
• If the I M A battery level gauge (BAT) displays no
segments, start the engine, and hold it between
3,500 r p m and 4,000 r p m w i t h o u t load (in Park or
Neutral) until the BAT displays at least three
segments.
• Enter the anti-theft codes f o r the radio and the
navigation system, and then enter the customer's
audio presets.
• Set the clock.
