2 1 . Connect the input shaft (mainshaft) speed sensor
connector.
22. Measure the voltage between PCM connector
terminals B10 and A3 or D16.

Is the voltage 0 V or about 5 V?
Y E S — G o t o step 23.
NO—Replace the input shaft (mainshaft) speed
sensor (see page 14-223), then go to step 3 1 .
23. Shift to the P position. Start the engine, and let it
idle.
24. W i t h the engine idling, measure the voltage
between PCM connector terminals B10 and A3 or
D16.

Is there 1.5-3.5 V?
Y E S — U p d a t e the PCM if it does not have the latest
software, or substitute a k n o w n - g o o d PCM
(see page 14-7), then recheck. If the s y m p t o m /
indication goes away w i t h a k n o w n - g o o d PCM,
replace the original PCM. •
NO—Replace the input shaft (mainshaft) speed
sensor (see page 14-223), then go to step 3 1 .
