13. Turn the Ignition switch OFF.
14. Disconnect PCM connector B (24P).
15. Check for continuity between input shaft
(mainshaft) speed sensor connector terminal No. 2
and body g r o u n d .

NM (RED)
W i r e side of f e m a l e t e r m i n a l s
Is there continuity?
Y E S — R e p a i r a short to g r o u n d in the w i r e between
PCM connector t e r m i n a l B10 and the input shaft
(mainshaft) speed sensor connector, then go to
step 3 1 .
N O — G o t o step 16.
16. Disconnect PCM connector C (22P).
17. Check for continuity between PCM connector
terminal C12 and input shaft (mainshaft) speed
sensor connector terminal No. 3.

Is there continuity?
Y E S — G o t o step 18.
NO—Repair an open in the w i r e between the input
shaft (mainshaft) speed sensor connector and PCM
connector terminal C12, then go to step 3 1 .
18. Connect PCM connectors B (24P) and C (22P).
19. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
20. Measure the voltage between input shaft
(mainshaft) speed sensor connector terminals
No. 2 and No. 3.

Is there about 5 V?
Y E S — G o t o step 2 1 .
