6. Remove the m o l d i n g (A) f r o m the lower edge of the
rear w i n d o w (B). If necessary, cut the m o l d i n g w i t h
a utility knife.
7. W i t h a helper on the outside, pull the piano w i r e (A)
back and forth in a sawing m o t i o n . Hold the piano
w i r e as close to the rear w i n d o w (B) as possible to
prevent damage to the body, and carefully cut
t h r o u g h the adhesive (C) around the entire rear
w i n d o w .

8. Carefully remove the rear w i n d o w .
9. W i t h a putty knife, scrape the old adhesive smooth
to a thickness of about 2 m m (0.08 in.) on the
bonding surface around the entire rear w i n d o w
opening flange:
• Do not scrape d o w n to the painted surface of the
body; damaged paint w i l l interfere w i t h proper
bonding.
• Remove the fasteners f r o m the body.
10. Clean the body bonding surface w i t h a sponge
d a m p e n e d in alcohol. After cleaning, keep oil,
grease and water f r o m getting on the surface.
11. If the old rear w i n d o w is to be reinstalled, use a
putty knife to scrape off all of the old adhesive, the
m o l d i n g s and the fasteners f r o m the rear w i n d o w .
Clean the inside face and the edge of the rear
w i n d o w w i t h alcohol w h e r e n e w adhesive is to be
applied. Make sure the bonding surface is kept free
of water, oil and grease.
