10. J u m p the SCS line w i t h the HDS.
11. Disconnect PCM connector B (24P).
12. Check for continuity between PCM connector
terminal B5 and body g r o u n d .

Is there continuity?
YES—Repair short in the w i r e between the
PCM (B5) and the EGR valve, then go to step 27.
NO—Go to step 13.
13. Connect EGR valve 6P connector t e r m i n a l No. 4 to
body g r o u n d w i t h a j u m p e r w i r e .

14. Check for continuity between PCM connector
terminal B5 and body g r o u n d .

Is there continuity?
YES —Go to step 15.
NO —Repair open in the w i r e between the PCM (B5)
and the EGR valve, then go to step 27.
15. Remove the EGR valve (see page 11-404).
16. Clean the intake m a n i f o l d EGR port w i t h throttle
plate and induction cleaner. A l s o , clean the
passage inside the EGR valve w i t h throttle plate
and induction cleaner.
17. Install the EGR valve (see page 11-404).
18. Reconnect the EGR valve 6P connector.
19. Reconnect PCM connector B (24P).
