64. Remove the transmission housing m o u n t i n g bolts.
65. Slide the transmission away f r o m the engine to
remove it f r o m the vehicle.
NOTE:
• The m o t o r rotor contains very strong magnets
and should be handled w i t h special care.
• Keep pieces of metal and all f o r e i g n particles out
of the m o t o r rotor during the transmission
r e m o v a l .
66. Inspect the drive plate, and replace if it's damaged.
67. Remove the torque converter.

1. Remove the drive plate (A) and w a s h e r (B).

2. Remove the torque converter support hub (C).
NOTE:
• The m o t o r rotor contains very strong magnets
and should be handled w i t h special care.
• Keep pieces of metal and all foreign particles out
of the motor rotor d u r i n g the transmission
removal.
• If the torque converter is replaced, the torque
converter support hub must be replaced
(see page 14-253).
3. Install the torque converter support hub on the
m o t o r rotor.
4. Install the drive plate and washer, and tighten the
bolts in a crisscross pattern in t w o or m o r e steps.
