I n t e r m e d i a t e S h a f t I n s t a l l a t i o n
1. Use solvent or brake cleaner to t h o r o u g h l y clean
the areas w h e r e the intermediate shaft (A) contacts
the transmission (differential), and dry t h e m w i t h
compressed air. Insert the intermediate shaft
assembly into the differential. Hold the
intermediate shaft horizontally to prevent damage
to the differential oil seal (B).

2. Install the flange bolt (A) and t w o dowel bolts (B).

10 x 1.25 m m
39 N-m (4.0 kgf-m, 29 Ibf-ft)
3. Install the heat shield (A) and exhaust pipe bracket
(B).
44 N-m
(4.5 k g f m , 33 Ibf-ft)
4. Install exhaust pipe A (see step 21 on page 5-14).
5. Install the right driveshaft (see page 16-18).
6. Refill the transmission w i t h automatic transmission
f l u i d (see page 14-231).
