20. Check for continuity between PCM connector
t e r m i n a l B3 and body g r o u n d .

Is there continuity?
Y E S — G o to step 2 1 .
NO—Repair open in the w i r e between the PCM (B3)
and the IMT actuator, then go to step 23.
2 1 . Remove the IMT actuator (see page 11-383).
22. Move the IMT valve by hand.
Does it move smoothly?
Y E S — S u b s t i t u t e a k n o w n - g o o d IMT actuator
(see page 11-383), then go to step 23 and recheck. If
DTC P1077 is not indicated, replace the IMT
actuator (see page 11-383), then go to step 23. If
DTC P1077 is indicated, go to step 29.
NO—Remove the intake m a n i f o l d cover (see step 1
on page 9-3), and repair the stuck valve. If
necessary, replace the intake m a n i f o l d (see page
9-2), then g o t o step 23.
23. Reconnct all connectors.
24. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
25. Reset the PCM w i t h the HDS.
26. Do the PCM idle learn procedure (see page 11-340).
27. Check for T e m p o r a r y DTCs or DTCs w i t h the HDS.
Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated?
Y E S — I f DTC P1077 is indicated, check for poor
connections or loose t e r m i n a l s at the IMT actuator
and the PCM, then go to step 1. If any other
T e m p o r a r y DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the
indicated D T C s t r o u b l e s h o o t i n g .
N O — G o t o step 28.
28. Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P1077 in the
DTCs MENU w i t h the HDS.
Does the screen indicate PASSED?
Y E S — T r o u b l e s h o o t i n g is c o m p l e t e . •
NO—If the screen indicates FAILED, check for poor
connections or loose t e r m i n a l s at the IMT actuator
and the PCM, then go to step 1. If the screen
indicates NOT COMPLETED, go to step 26 and
recheck.
29. Update the PCM if it does not have the latest
software, or substitute a k n o w n - g o o d PCM
(see page 11-6).
30. Check for T e m p o r a r y DTCs or DTCs w i t h the HDS.
Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated?
Y E S — I f DTC P1077 is indicated, check for poor
connections or loose t e r m i n a l s at the IMT actuator
and the PCM, then go to step 1. If any other
T e m p o r a r y DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the
indicated D T C s t r o u b l e s h o o t i n g .
NO—If the PCM was updated, t r o u b l e s h o o t i n g is
complete. If the PCM w a s substituted, replace the
original PCM (see page 1 1 - 2 1 9 ) . •
