A / C S i g n a l C i r c u i t T r o u b l e s h o o t i n g
1. Start the engine.
2. Turn the blower switch on.
3. Turn the A/C switch on.
4. Check the A/C CLUTCH in the DATA LIST w i t h the
HDS.
Is it ON?
Y E S — G o t o step 5.
IMO—Go to the A/C system test (see page 21-107). •
5. Check the A/C system.
Does the A/C system
operate?
Y E S — T h e air conditioning system circuit is O K . B
N O - G o t o step 6.
6. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
7. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
8. Activate the A/C CLUTCH in the INSPECTION
MENU w i t h the HDS.
Is there a clicking
noise from the A/C
compressor
clutch?
Y E S — D o the A/C system test (see page 21-107). •
N O — G o t o step 9.
9. M o m e n t a r i l y connect under-hood fuse/relay box
16P connector terminal No. 15 to body ground w i t h
a j u m p e r w i r e several times.

compressor
clutch?
Y E S — R e p a i r open in the w i r e between the PCM
(E27) and the A/C clutch r e l a y . •
NO—Update the PCM if it does not have the latest
software, or substitute a known-good PCM
(see page 11-6), then recheck. If the s y m p t o m /
indication goes away w i t h a known-good PCM,
replace the original PCM (see page 11-219). •
