19. U n w i n d the boot band t o o l , and cut off the excess
free end of the band to leave a 5—10 m m
(0.2—0.4 in.) tail p r o t r u d i n g f r o m the clip.
20. Bend the band end (A) by t a p p i n g it d o w n w i t h a
hammer.
NOTE:
• Make sure the band and clip do not interfere w i t h
anything on the vehicle and the band does not
move.
• Remove any grease remaining on the
surrounding surfaces.
2 1 . Repeat steps 13 t h r o u g h 20 for the band on the
other end of the boot.
22. Install the new set ring.
