EGR System

13. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
14. J u m p the SCS line w i t h the HDS.
15. Disconnect PCM connector A (31P).
16. Check for continuity between PCM connector
terminal A24 and body g r o u n d .

Is there continuity?
Y E S — R e p a i r short in the w i r e between the PCM
(A24) and the EGR valve, then go to step 44.
N O — G o t o step 17.
17. Connect EGR valve 6P connector terminal No. 1 to
body ground w i t h a j u m p e r w i r e .

18. Check for continuity between PCM connector
terminal A24 and body g r o u n d .

Is there continuity?
Y E S — G o t o step 19.
NO—Repair open in the w i r e between the PCM
(A24) and the EGR valve, then go to step 44.
19. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
20. Disconnect the EGR valve 6P connector.
2 1 . At the sensor side, measure resistance between
EGR valve 6P connector t e r m i n a l s No. 1 and No. 2.

Is there continuity or resistance of 100 kQ or
more?
Y E S — G o to step 43.
N O — G o t o step 22.
